Ethan visited the court of New York, this time finally to recieve an audience with his majesty, Prince Felipe... Although an odd occurance came with this, his name could not be said outloud or written down in any form of communication. Perhaps it was some form of sorcery that the Crone had devised, but why? Only they would know what power is to be held within a name. The court was awkward to say the least, as Ethan's new Primogen spoke up for him (Who's name was also Ethan.) He was an absolute embaressment to the Unaligned, blubbering about while making most of the women feel awkward or demeaned... Yet he was pittied and unscathed by any of the Harpies in the Court. This reminded Ethan of how the mentally disabled were shown tollerance for their misguided actions in the middle east, and were given charity to. But what struck him even more befuddling was that he was a member of Clan Ventrue. An idiot who parades himself around like a fool, holding patronage to one of the most esteem clans of the night? Either way, he was to be Ethan's primogen.
Thankfully, it was not he who vouched for his welfare and status within the city, instead, a member of the Invictus by the name of Simon Phelps, took Ethan under his wing as a fellow Daeva, the tight knit bonds of the Daeva Clan seemed to run tight within New York, especially after hearing Ethan's tale of how New Jersey's court had collapsed due to civil dispute amongst the Unaligned and the Prince who had never shown her face amongst the members of the court. He was a refugee now in a foreign Domain with Kindred he had never knew before recently. Simon decided to show him around, and make him a few offers to come to a meeting of the First Estate and see what they would have to offer him. Being that this was the second time he was looked over by an Invictus, he figured maybe there's something he doesn't see within himself that would make him a worthy candidate for their Covenant.
While he was giving consideration to this proposition, Jason asked for his attention for a moment. It seems that his suspicions grew that all the things Ethan had recieved before, the pocket watch, the flower, the card, all of this were things to try to jump start his memory. He too believed the theory of that his mind has been tampered. At first, Ethan though this to be very suspicious as he was talking to Pyp, but another Ventrue he had trusted, Artemis, had attended court that same night. He sat down, thinking long and hard in contemplation about his options and choices... Allowing another Vampire into his mind is not something most Kindred should ever trust to go as well as planned. But if it were true, he'd need some answers as to what exactly was covered up. He agreed to the Ventrue's as well as having Jason supervise since he was under his sway with his Daeva gifts.
So they began to Dominate him in a secluded area away from court, starting to sift through his thoughts and memories, Pyp apparently had a hard time learning how to navigate through Ethan's thoughts since he was more adept at speaking to animals rather then humans. After a few minutes of disgruntled muttering and Ethan just staring at him blankly, waiting for something to happen, Artemis decided to step in and take over. His attempts garnered a bit more, he couldn't find anything specific, but knew that Ethan's mind definately was tampered with by another who possessed the gifts of the Ventrue to cloud the minds of others. He apparently could offer no more but when Simon Phelps showed up to check and see how I was doing, he offered a suggestion that Ethan should speak to Lorenzo Gambara, another Ventrue of his Covenant. He recommended him since he was quite adept and tearing apart minds as well as Kindred reputations, as long as Jason and Simon gave him his blessing and offered to watch over him, he decided to take them up on his offer, as he continued with his odd game of musical chairs, moving from one Ventrue to the next.
Lorenzo Gambara was a busy man for the evening, he barely even raised an eyebrow when being introduced to Ethan but he some how managed to eek out a second of his schedule to speak with him. Ethan pleaded his case to him and requested that if he were to help, he would be indebted to him with a major boon. He agreed to do so later that evening, with the company of Rebecca Allen, a Carthian who was also adept and sifting through memories of Kindred and Kine alike. So as the night dwindled down, they informed Ethan to visit them at Lorenzo's private Hotel. He had a private suite set out for the evening so they wouldn't be interrupted during the process. They sat down and began exchanging simple questions without the use of the Ventrue gifts, comparing and cross examining him, making sure this wasn't some sort of trick, and then Lorenzo went to work as he began to lull Ethan under his gaze. He started questioning his name, when he was born, everything down to his covenant and status. They looked a bit taken away to find out he was a member of the First Estate, a VERY old member to be precise. He was already an Alder in terms of the Invictus, yet he had been on the streets this entire time among the unaligned... Given the name of Ethan when his true name was Lance Morrison.
After they ended the session for the evening, Lance went back home and let it all sink in for the next few days. Realizing the past 2 centuries of his life were a lie. But if that was the case, then who is he really? Would memories (false or true) determine who he was or what he was to become, or could he still be his old self even after all this time, being misguided by clouded memories. He took up enough time before visiting Lorenzo again to help with anymore probing into his head, coming to terms with he'd have to represent himself to the Prince again as a member of the First Estate. Lorenzo proceeded once more and dug as far he could, finding certain parts irrevocably lost to the time and determination of his sire's clouding. Who ever she was, she didn't want Lance knowing why or what she did this for. After the session, Lorenzo began to speak of how the First Estate was holding up within New York. This inspired old memories Lance had of being in the Invictus before, how he always sought to bring his Covenant to power by his hand and ambitious nature with negotiating and brokering deals.
For the coming months ahead, Lance had decided to re-instate himself within the First Estate of New York as a Commissioner (His previous title he held within New Jersey) and see what he could do with becoming a prominent member of the court.
